Why Sage?

Sage is used in our soap for its natural cleansing and soothing properties, as well as its deep cultural significance. Traditionally valued across many communities, sage has long been associated with purification, healing, and grounding. In our formulation, it helps gently cleanse the skin while offering a calming, earthy scent that enhances the self-care experience. By using sage, we not only care for the skin but also honour a plant rooted in tradition and connection to nature.

Growth & Harvest

Sage grows naturally in parts of South Africa’s dry, sunny regions, particularly in the Western Cape and other areas with Mediterranean-like climates. Thriving in well-drained soil and warm conditions, it is well suited to the local landscape. For our soaps, we source sage responsibly from local growers who use sustainable farming practices. By working closely with South African suppliers, we ensure quality while supporting local communities and maintaining a respectful relationship with the land.

Manufacturing

Our soaps are carefully handcrafted in small batches to ensure quality and attention to detail. Using a gentle process, natural ingredients like sage are blended with nourishing oils to create a bar that cleanses without stripping the skin. Each step of the manufacturing process is carried out locally in South Africa, supporting, employing and training locals. This hands-on approach allows us to create a product that is both thoughtfully made and true to our values.
